Dungeons and live sex shows in Birmingham swingers club

CONCEALED at the top of a grubby staircase in an ugly metal-fronted industrial unit, the Retro Club looks innocuous enough from the outside.

But step through the door and you soon get a feel for what this “adult entertainment” venue off the busy Tyburn Road in Birmingham is all about.

The Retro is the city’s newest swingers club – and its bosses claim members include doctors, lawyers and even police officers.

Yet locals are now trying to close down the venue which lies within a largely residential area.

To investigate what goes on behind the closed doors of the Retro, myself and a “partner” paid a visit posing as potential new members.

Helpful guide Russell, who runs the club, led us through to the darkened main room and then showed us around the rest of the premises.

He told us that the dungeon downstairs was still under construction, though fetish parties still take place at weekends.

Wearing an earring and porno-style tache, our host apologised that live sex would not be filmed that night as his usual cameraman was away.

For an entrance fee of £40 single men can visit the club, he said, but they must leave all their clothes at reception and wear a towel while inside.

Because we were a couple the fee was waived and we were offered the luxury of keeping our clothes on for our tour.
