They said they put the sign up because hundreds of people were using their toilets every day.
Oscar, aged 70, said it cost them £17,000 to connect the facilities to the main sewage pipes and Pam, aged 67, said stocking up on toilet paper cost them a fortune.
“It is right next to the footpath,” said Oscar.
“We have thousands of children coming here on school outings, and they would be queuing down the path to use the loo. In the summer we have a lot of walkers and mountain bikers coming past and using it as well.
“They come streaming in and all wait in line.
“Someone’s got to pay for the water and the toilet roll and we paid £17,000 to have the mains sewerage connected for the camp site. It might seem a bit harsh but it is just a deterrent really.”
But Oscar admitted he might relax the rules for someone, who was really desperate, depending on their manners.
“People don’t use it now because of the sign but if someone comes and asks nicely I might let them use it for free,” he said.
