WELL, he wishes it could be cleaned up every day...
The glitzy star awarded to Midland pop wizard Roy Wood isn’t all it was cracked up to be.
In fact, it’s just cracked up.
Roy’s Walk of Stars award on Birmingham’s Broad Street appears to be jinxed.
After it was awarded amid great ceremony in November 2010, it took a year for the star to be cemented into the street because of a series of delays.
Then it started to break up just days later – and repairs have been ‘pending’ ever since.
When contacted by the Sunday Mercury, the I Wish It Could Be Christmas Every Day star said he had been alerted by fans.
“It doesn’t look great and people are noticing it,” the Wizzard singer added.
“I got sent a text over Christmas from a friend who sent me a photo of the award, with the message ‘I think we need to get the Polyfilla out’.
“These things happen, I suppose, but it should have been repaired soon after they knew about it.
