Harry Potter dwarf star Greg Doherty says being small is big business

STEP aside, Snow White. Now it’s Stag Night and the Seven Dwarfs.

Because being small is big business in the recession. Just ask Greg Doherty.

The Harry Potter star who stands just 4ft 6in tall is a hot ticket at stag parties and hen nights.

Instead of busty strippers, Oompa Loompas, leprechauns and mini-Elvis Presleys are all the rage.

Greg, 34, even dresses as Jason, the hockey-masked murderer from the Halloween movies.

Best men and bridesmaids across the Midlands are jumping at the chance to toast upcoming nuptials with a short.

And trade is growing – so much so that Greg now commands an army of 30 dwarf entertainers across the region.

He was booked by 20 stag parties in Birmingham last year and is expecting to double that in 2012.

For £475 a throw, he and his cohorts play tricks on grooms and brides-to-be while dressed as characters from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Star Wars and children’s fairytales.

And if the pitter-patter of tiny feet isn’t enough to make grooms Grumpy, there’s worse to follow.

Greg, or one of his workers, quite often chains himself to the hapless victim.

Hen parties can be tough, however.
