IT could be just the ticket for a bride and groom looking for an unusual reception venue.
Because a classic 1960s bus which spent years ferrying passengers around is now offering a very different service – as the centre piece of a wedding marquee, complete with dancefloor and cocktail lounge.
The double decker was lovingly transformed by Helen Bleakman, 43, and partner Giovanni Caffo, from Droitwich, Worcestershire.
The business they created three years ago – Deckerdence – was their way of breaking out of their day jobs.
Now their 44-year-old Leyland bus tours the country where it is hired out for weddings, festivals, and corporate events.
“We were both doing quite mundane things three years ago,” Helen told the Sunday Mercury. ‘‘Giovanni worked as a builder while I was in sales.
“Then one night over a bottle of wine we came up with the idea for the bus – and it was the best thing we ever did.
‘‘We now spend our time going round the country doing all kinds of events for people.’’
The mum-of-one added: “It can be really tough work but we have a lot of fun.
