Former Conservative club visited by Margaret Thatcher is now home to sexy lapdances and 'roman orgy' theme room

A FORMER Conservative club once visited by Margaret Thatcher is now operating as a strip bar, the Sunday Mercury can reveal.

Club Arcadia, in West Bromwich, offers saucy lapdances as well as a ‘Roman orgy’ theme room.

But in its earlier days, clients were far more reserved – as it was home to the West Bromwich Conservative and Social Club.

The Tory venue eventually went bust but not before former Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher paid a visit, along with other party grandees.

And it was a former favoured haunt of West Bromwich Albion stars like Bryan Robson, who would also drink there after training.

One local said: “I was shocked when I noticed that the former Conservative club is now being used as a lapdance bar.

“My dad was a regular in there until it closed in the early 1980s and he once told me that Maggie Thatcher had visited.

“It’s incredible to think it is now a strip bar, as they had all kinds of Conservative Party figures visiting at one time.”
