A HEARTBROKEN gran who rescued her toddler grandson from his drug addict mum says social services plan to take the child away and place him in care.
Two year-old Billy was placed with Birmingham grandmother Emma last month following physical abuse concerns.
But the pensioner claims social services have now warned the child may be taken into care after his angry mum made ‘malicious’ complaints against her.
“At a care meeting about Billy they decided that my daughter had to have random drugs tests, but she made claims that he was being abused by us, which is total rubbish,’’ said Emma.
‘‘He was ignored by social services and health care workers, but now he is happier than ever they want to take him away.
“The social workers told us that it was better to take him away from his family than risk another Baby P case, yet they haven’t got a shred of proof that he has been mistreated by us.
‘‘It’s just malicious.’’
Billy was placed with his grandparents after his mum initially gave consent for them to act as carers. But she has now fallen out with her family and demanded the toddler be placed in foster care.
The boy’s aunt Sue lives with Emma and claimed Billy often had unexplained bruises when in the care of his mother.
