MIDLAND rock superstar Slash is holding the ultimate garage sale – auctioning more than 300 prized possessions, including his trademark top hat and Gibson guitars, for charity.
The 45 year-old guitar hero – real name Saul Hudson – from Stoke-on-Trent is even flogging his Harley Davidson superbike and 1966 Corvette custom car to help needy kids.
Also going under the hammer will be the former Guns N’Roses star’s collectables, including a bench featured in the Jack Nicholson movie One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest.
The sale bizarrely includes a large collection of model dinosaurs, a pottery skull, a wooden cobra statue, original Wurlitzer jukebox, South Park pinball machine and Asian artefacts.
Proceeds, expected to total hundreds of thousands of pounds, will go to the LA Youth Network, which helps children who are homeless and need the kindness and guidance of caring adults.
The Corvette alone is expected to fetch up to £80,000 and, says Slash’s wife Perla Hudson, was the hardest item to part with.
