Wolverhampton DJ facing iTunes fraud trial

THIS is the Midland DJ accused of plotting a complex £500,000 credit card scam on the iTunes website.

DJ Denver White, who is charged with fraud over an alleged internet scam

Denver White, 24, from Wolverhampton, is due to appear at City of Westminster Magistrates’ Court next month along with 11 other defendants over claims that an international criminal gang targeted the Apple and Amazon music websites.

A transatlantic investigation by Scotland Yard’s e-crime unit and the FBI led to a series of raids in June last year in Birmingham, Wolverhampton, London and Kent.

Ten people were arrested, with two more taken in later.

It is alleged the gang, who have links to the urban music scene, created around 20 songs which they sold through the two internet sites.

Cops think they then used 1,500 stolen or cloned credit cards from the UK and America to buy the songs and pocket £469,000 in royalties.

White is better known as DJ Denver in his home city of Wolverhampton.

His MySpace page promotes his hip hop events at the Indulgence night club in Brierley Hill.

It offers fans the chance to listen to samples from his songs including Cut Off Dem Thangs and When I laid Eyes On You VIP.

The twelve defendants will appear in court on September 15.

White, along with seven other defendants, has been charged with conspiracy to defraud.
