MIDLAND passengers were stranded in Spanish holiday hotspot Malaga when the windscreen of their plane cracked.
Families from across the region had been due to fly home to East Midlands Airport on Friday, when the fault was found in the cockpit of their bmibaby flight – and the jet was grounded.
The airline flew out engineers to make the aircraft safe, but passengers had to spend the night in the Spanish airport terminal.
Angry holidaymakers, whi finally made it back to Britain yesterday, claimed they were left without access to food and drink.
Kate Kemp, from Nottingham, claimed passengers had been delayed for 14 hours before anyone came to speak to them.
“We had no idea what was going on,” she said. “It was a very stressful situation, an awful way to end a holiday.”
