Birmingham sells world's most expensive shoes for £100,000

Expensive shoes

THEY are the shoes that are definitely top of the FOOTSIE index.

Because these Eternal Diamond Stilettoes have gone up for sale in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter – at a cool £100,000 a pair.

The spectacular shoes are the most expensive in the world, having been made entirely from solid gold and encrusted with 2,200 diamonds.

They were created for The House of Borgezie by owner Christopher Michael Shellis, who also runs three shops in the Jewellery Quarter.

“I had the idea about five years ago,’’ says the jewellery designer and manufacturer.

‘‘Shoes are something women find totally irresistible and I wanted a way of showcasing my skills of goldsmithing, diamond-setting and design in a way that was really attractive.”
