How Jamelia gave Walsall FC striker Darren Byfield the red card

THE estranged husband of Midland popstar Jamelia has broken his silence over their divorce.

Walsall striker Darren Byfield, 33, who was in FA Cup action against minnows Stourbridge yesterday, has given an insight into his feelings on the micro-blogging website Twitter.

In a number of postings over the last week the footballer hinted at the couple’s divorce and spoke of how he was dealing with the split.

In one he wrote: “It’s going day by day, did not think I would be like this, but I suppose some s*** just makes it easier for you to deal with.”

And in another, on the eve of last Monday’s announcement he wrote: “Oh, and by the way, it’s not good news, so don’t get it twisted, night, night.”

And on the day: “Knew but did not want to say, anyway it’s been like this a while now, even though it only came out today... tough times never last but tough people do!”
