BARBARA Ward makes a poignant pilgrimage every day to visit the grave of her teenage daughter, whose life was ended by a foreign lorry driver on the M6 motorway.

Two years since the tragedy, the 49-year-old mum still has difficulty in coming to terms with the loss of the bright, intelligent girl who was the light of the family’s lives.

Husband Tony, 54, is dealing with Rachel Ward’s death in another way entirely.

Slowly, but surely, he is forcing the Government to change the laws covering overseas truckers who drive in the UK. He has already had one set of legislation redrawn.

And now the battling bus driver plans to do it again.

His life changed forever when pregnant 19-year-old Rachel was killed on the M6 near the family home in Bedworth, near Nuneaton.
