AN ANGRY mum is withdrawing her eight year-old son from primary school after he was taken from a lesson and ordered to mop up urine puddles in the boys’ toilets.
Parveen Sagana, of Aldrige, Walsall, said she had been left with “no choice” but to remove Isa Ali from St Mary of the Angels Catholic Primary following the incident.
The mum claims the school has since apologised – but she is now withdrawing her son.
“I’ve never heard of anything like this happening anywhere else, and I am not going to stand for it,” she said.
Staff at the Weston Crescent school had previously warned male pupils of the dangers of urinating on the floor instead of in the toilet urinals.
Things came to a head on Wednesday afternoon when youngsters were addressed by staff over the problem.
“A teacher came in to talk about the problem to the classes, and to explain that it was not acceptable behaviour,” Parveen added.
But she claims a stunned Isa was then told that, as part of a new monitoring system, he must take a mop and bucket and clean the toilet floor.
“It was degrading for him, he’s been crying ever since,” she said.
