Tonight Kate goes head-to-head with fearsome Yasmina in the final of The Apprentice
KATE WALSH
Age: 27
Qualifications: First-class degree in Psychology and Management.
Jobs: Licensing Development Manager for a coffee company. As a teenager she worked in a chip shop and in McDonald’s.
Family background: Kate grew up in Cannock, Staffordshire, the daughter of a pit worker and dinner lady.
Appearance: Kate is a blonde bombshell, with model looks and a smart wardrobe.
Apprentice successes: Kate has only twice been in a boardroom battle.
Her team-mates hailed her as an excellent project leader when she managed the breakfast cereal challenge – even Ben admired her.
She delivered a flawless pitch during the Margate task.
Failures: Distracted by flirtatious Philip, she failed to sell anything at all in week seven, and was surprisingly bad on air during the TV shopping channel challenge. During the interview rounds she did well but was accused of being robotic.
Grace under pressure: Kate is unflappable and has never once lost her temper. She successfully hid the fact her grandmother had died just before one challenge.
Love life: Kate started a relationship with fellow candidate Philip Taylor, but when pitted against him said she made sure he was fired. They are still together, though.
Business role model: Sex & The City’s Samantha.
She says: “I’ve only had one interview where they didn’t offer me the job but I thought they were idiots.”
