Spur of the moment Las Vegas wedding for Birmingham couple

Dan popped the question the next morning, and the pair were married at Wee Kirk o’ the Heather, which is the oldest wedding chapel in Las Vegas.

The bride wore a summer dress and the couple had to borrow rings from friends Jon and Hilary, who also acted as witnesses.

Juliet added: “Fortunately I’d found a blue parasol at the festival for something new and blue and Hilary lent me her antique silver bracelet for something borrowed and old.

“We had to borrow a ring each from Jon and Hilary for the ceremony – we still haven’t got the rings. Everything was so impromptu and unplanned and we both had to go straight back to work when we got back.”

Following the ceremony the happy couple, who have been together for nearly five years, went for a wedding breakfast in Santa Barbara and spent the last of their $200 winnings on a bottle of champagne.

Their first dance, to Al Green’s Let’s Stay Together, came courtesy of a jukebox, and the pair took their wedding snaps in a photo booth.

Juliet added they are now planning a blessing in front of friends and family followed by a big party in the summer.
