Birmingham primary pupil accused of series of sex attacks

When she eventually told me what had happened I had to stay calm, but I was so angry. It breaks my heart to think what has happened to her. We have a wonderful social worker who is helping us, but its still very hard knowing what she went through.

Yet despite complaining to the school, the grandmother claims the boy concerned was allowed back into the same class as his alleged victim.

He was only out of her class for two days and then let back in, yet my granddaughter is terrified of him, she said.

We have had problems in the past with this lad, I have been in to talk with the school five times but it is very hard to get an appointment.

She used to be fine going to school but now it doesnt matter which way we go, as soon as we get near she breaks down in tears.

I have tried everything to find some forgiveness for that boy but I simply cant.

If by speaking out I can stop one other child having this happen to them, then I will have done some good.

The grandma also claims the girls mum has talked to other parents whose children had also been attacked by the boy.

She said: They were speaking at the school gates and other parents claimed he had done similar things to their kids.

Due to the age of the alleged attacker he cannot be prosecuted for any sex offences. As a result, West Midlands Police have not been contacted by the school but social services have launched an investigation into the alleged incidents.

They would not discuss details of the case but a Birmingham City Council spokesman said: Once an allegation against a pupil was made, staff immediately referred the matter to the city councils social workers for investigation.

That investigation is still ongoing and it would therefore be inappropriate to comment any further at this stage.
