Illegal immigrant caught with real passport in his underpants at Birmingham Airport

AN illegal immigrant tried to trick his way into the UK – by hiding his true identity in his underpants.

Border control cops at Birmingham Airport became aware something was amiss when an Albanian man could not give them full details of where he would be staying.

The inventive immigrant, who arrived in the country from Germany, first tried to con UK Border control officers with a passport visa that was originally issued for a woman.

When this failed, he tried to convince airport officials that he was “meeting up with a cousin” in Birmingham.

But his story fell apart when he could not provide the name and address of the relative.

And the biggest shock came when the 35-year-old man delved deep into his undies in a bid to prove who he was. Hidden in the seat of his pants was his genuine passport, giving his real name and address – and exposing him as a fraud.

The man later admitted that he was trying to enter the country so he could work illegally.

A UK Border Agency spokesman said: “There are a range of background checks we carry out on people coming to the UK, and we examine travel documents for signs that they might be forged or stolen.
