Teenager dies after quarry fall in Nuneaton

"Ambulance crews, the fire and rescue service and the police, along with the police helicopter, also arrived on scene to help in the operation and a man was found at the bottom of the cliff in water.

"He was pulled from the water and resuscitation attempts were carried out by paramedics.

"Unfortunately despite the best efforts of ambulance crews nothing could be done to save the man and he was confirmed dead at the scene.

"Two other teenage boys who had also been in the water attempting to rescue their friend were treated at the scene for the effects of being in cold water and the early symptoms of hypothermia."

A third teenager was taken to the same hospital suffering from shock.

A fire service boat was used to take the patients across the quarry to a waiting ambulance.
