FORMULA One racing star David Coulthard last night added his support to the growing campaign to save Jaguar Land Rover.
Gordon Brown and his government are being urged to offer the Midlands-based car giant a £1 billion loan to help it through the recession and safeguard thousands of jobs in the region.
The campaign is being spearheaded by Sunday Mercury editor Steve Dyson, and is backed by big city newspapers the Birmingham Mail, Birmingham Post, Coventry Telegraph, Liverpool Echo and Liverpool Daily Echo.
Now flying Scotsman Coulthard, who retired from Formula One last year after 14 years, has joined the battle which has already attracted a 5,600-strong online petition.
