ASTON VILLA are hoping to claim Barack Obama as their latest celebrity fan.
The Birmingham football club bosses are aspiring to boost their team’s profile by enlisting the support of the President Elect of the United States.
Director General Charles C Krulak has sent the world’s most talked-about politician a club scarf in the hope he may pledge his allegiance.
If Obama agrees to support Villa he will join the likes of the future King of England Prince Willliam, Mervyn King, governor of the Bank of England and Hollywood actor Tom Hanks who are all Villa fans.
The club also boasts world famous Brummies such as violinist Nigel Kennedy and rock star and TV personality Ozzy Osbourne among its throng of followers.
