Funeral to take place for Redditch man found in suitcase

THE funeral for a Midland mother whose disabled son was found dead in the garden will be held today.

The service in memory of Heather Wardle, whose son's decomposed remains were discovered in a suitcase, at their family home in Redditch, Worcestershire, will take place in the home town.

Being held at Ipsley Church, the funeral comes more than three months after Ms Wardle, 39, was found dead at the base of a tree.

The mother-of-four was found with a ligature around her neck two days before 22-year-old James Hughes' body was discovered.

A funeral for Mr Hughes has yet to take place and both deaths are still being treated by West Mercia Constabulary as unexplained.

A date has yet to be set for a full inquest into the deaths.

James's stepfather, Brian Kirby, and a youth were freed without charge after being questioned on suspicion of James's murder.
