Teenage Edgbaston mum missing after bad news from medics

Sarah Gould and her daughter

SHE became one of Britain’s gymslip mums when she had a baby at the age of 15, while she was studying for her GCSEs.

Sarah Marie Gould doted on daughter Terisha, learning from her own mother how to change nappies, how to bathe and feed the tot.

But last night she was missing. The schoolgirl mum disappeared from her Edgbaston home after hearing bad news from medics just before Christmas.

Her feartbroken mum, Brianna O’Brien, said she feared for the safety of Sarah, now 17, and pleaded with her to get in touch.

“I just want her to know that we’re here for her and miss her so much,” Brianna, 40, told the Sunday Mercury.

“Her daughter keeps on calling out for her mummy, and looks around the room for her. We’re all so worried about her.”

Sarah disappeared on December 17 after being diagnosed with a medical condition the family has asked the Mercury not to disclose.

“She was worried about her illness and became down about it,” said Brianna. “She hadn’t been coping well with it and I’m seriously worried about her well-being.

“I’m not sure what sort of state of mind she is in.

“All she left with were the clothes she was wearing at the time. She has never gone missing like thisbefore.”

The missing girl’s daughter, Terisha, is now two years old and police investigating the disappearance say she is missing her mother terribly.

Sarah, one of 11 brothers and sisters, fell unexpectedly pregnant at the age of 15. She had been attending Harborne Academy where she was studying for her GCSEs, but left soon afterwards.

Although she was shocked at first, she quickly adapted to motherhood.
