THE mistress of a flamboyant Birmingham MP is expecting the couple’s second love child.

John Hemming, 51, who represents Yardley for the Liberal Democrats, already has a daughter named Isobel with lover Emily Cox.

The colourful politician also has three children with his wife of more than 30 years, Christine, with whom he still shares a house in Moseley.

Now Mr Hemming, who made millions with his financial services firm JHC plc, is set to become a dad for the fifth time.

“Normally we would not announce the news because Emily is only 12 weeks pregnant,” he admitted to the Sunday Mercury.

“We’ve only just told Isobel. Somebody must have seen me with Emily at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital for the 12-week scan.

“Whereas Isobel wasn’t planned, this baby is intentional. Our family are looking forward to a healthy baby.”

The Lib Dem MP’s unconventional private life was thrust into the headlines last year after his wife was found guilty of stealing a kitten from mistress Ms Cox’s house.

Prosecutors played the court CCTV footage from cameras which showed Mrs Hemming, 54, making off with Beauty.

She was handed a nine-month prison sentence, suspended for 12 months, at Birmingham Crown Court in October.
