Terrorist threat

MRS J PAINTER (Mercury, August 3) is right to be annoyed at luggage loss at Birmingham Airport, not just since it can spoil a holiday but is a serious threat to security.

I recently returned from Budapest via Munich into Birmingham. Our luggage remained at Munich having failed to get transferred.

Rather casually we were told that  this and the Brussels flight transfer often missed the connections but our luggage would arrive in Birmingham on the following day’s flight.

Unattended luggage, some of which might be unlocked, could be a massive bombing coup for disturbed terrorists.

If only they were as fast in loading our luggage as the aviation industry is in stacking on surcharges!
