A PROBE has been launched after hundreds of confidential patient records were found at a Black Country bus stop.

A computer disk containing the details of 800 files, which included birth dates, addresses and medical conditions of mostly elderly patients at West Midlands Hospitals, was left at the Wolverhampton stop.

David Loughton, chief executive of New Cross Hosptial, promised to dismiss the person responsible for the security lapse.
