Red Arrows are a waste of money

Arrows are just a sad

THE Red Arrows have been cleared to be part of the opening ceremony at the 2012 London Olympics.

Why?

Can you imagine the reaction if the Games were due to be held in Russia (if only) and the Government there staged a fly-past of military aircraft?

Surely the organisers of the misguided London event can’t be so bereft of ideas that they are being forced to fall back on the RAF’s sad reminder of an age that has more in common with the Battle of Britain than the 2012 beach volleyball contest.

Perhaps they think that this aerial waste of public money makes a fitting tribute to the grotesque squandering of our cash that will be going on at ground level.

Or can it be that there are jokers around who just can’t resist watching the Iraq and Afghanistan teams doing what they have been brought up to do when British aircraft approach fast and low – dive for cover?
