FORMER Wolves boss Dave Jones has revealed his regret that he didn’t get the financial backing to finish the job at Molineux.
Jones, looking for a job after his exit from Cardiff City in May, admits he still wonders just what he could have achieved with the club.
The 55-year-old took Wolves to the big time for the first time in 20 years in 2003 but was starved of funds to rebuild and tumbled back down immediately.
Despite that, however, Jones insists that he looks back on his four years at Wolves with genuine affection.
“It was fantastic times,” he said. “I was the first manager to get them to the Premier League.
“Everybody else had tried, ex-England managers and all sorts. My criteria was to get them promoted in three years and I did it in two.
