JEZ Moxey is no Jack Osbourne but at times he feels like an adrenaline junkie as the Wolverhampton Wanderers bandwagon continues to take board and fans alike on a 130 mile-an-hour rollercoaster.
Not what your regular 48-year-old businessman gets up to.
But the former Stoke City supremo doesn’t do regular – and wouldn’t swap his high-octane addiction to life in the fast lane.
“It depends what people mean by the thrill of it, but this is an adrenalin filled industry non-stop and it is difficult to get off the conveyor belt,” said Moxey.
“People talk about the highs and lows of football but the pressure is there incessantly. “And I guess I must thrive on that pressure of which it is incredible and none more so than on the last day of last season where our stress levels have never been higher.
“So I guess we must love it or we wouldn’t do it! Everybody at the club is just so committed to the cause in what we are trying to achieve.
“It isn’t a job it is a way of life. We have created something that we are very proud of.”
Wolves were almost on their knees when Moxey pulled up 11 years ago having failed to get into the Championship play-offs.
But a title, two successful Premier survival seasons, a new stadium, new training ground and Roger Johnson’s capture give the former basketball international plenty to smile about.
