ALBION’S pranksters could be out-done by the new kid on the block if Scott Allan is anything like his boyhood hero.
The 20-year-old grew up in Glasgow watching England funnyman Paul Gascoigne playing for Rangers and has warned his new team-mates: ‘I’m full of banter myself’.
Allan is not fazed by the move from Dundee United to the Midlands and is ready to mix it with the Baggies’ senior pros, who he says have been fantastic to him since his arrival.
On Thursday he missed the chance to bond with the team on their weekly ‘activities day’ because he had to go flat-hunting in the area.
But he is hoping to prove he’s not a big fish in a little pond by succeeding at The Hawthorns.
“I’d like to think I’ve got a bit of banter about me – I don’t know how it will go down here though yet,” he said.
“When I was younger I watched Gazza and that’s when I started going to football games.
“I’m not comparing myself to him at all – I just liked watching the way he played football.
“I know it’s a big step (from the SPL) but I think a lot of people under-estimate the standard of play in Scotland.
