ROY Hodgson had no complaints with Mike Dean’s decision to award a fourth successive Hawthorns penalty against his Albion team.
The Baggies boss watched Albion throw away a 1-0 lead to lose to a struggling Wigan side.
Steven Reid, who has scored the opening goal, was penalised for a foul on Victor Moses after the break.
Jordi Gomez converted from the spot.
Albion had a late shout for a spot-kick themselves when Graham Dorrans fell under a challenge from David Jones – but referee Mike Dean deemed it as a dive, booking the Baggies midfielder in the process.
“My wife slaughters me for complaining about penalties and she’s right,” said Hodgson.
“So I prefer to say nothing – people will make up their own minds. It was no doubt a penalty for their decision (Reid on Moses).
“Whether the referee got any others wrong I don’t know. I will keep my mouth shut.”
Speaking about Albion’s performance, Hodgson was surprisingly upbeat.
He said: “Losing at home to a team that’s below you in the table should bring about a lot of regrets and anger.
