West Brom boss Roberto Di Matteo says that hard work will be the only way Scott Carson can reclaim his number one position.
The England goalkeeper was dropped last week after a series of errors and replaced by Boaz Myhill.
The former Hull stopper will retain his place in between the Albion sticks for today’s trip to Blackburn and Di Matteo says he is happy to have the healthy competition.
“I was pleased with his performance last week,” said Di Matteo.
“I just believe that players deserve a chance and Boaz has worked hard.
“He’s got a great attitute and it was time to give him a chance and opportunity.
“Scott just has to put his head down, work in training and regain his position.
“I’m out there looking at the players every day and that’s how it is at the moment.
“But that goes for every player, not just for Scott.
