ROBERTO Di Matteo paid tribute to ‘war’ hero Chris Brunt following Albion’s victory against Fulham – a win that put them in a Champions League spot at the close of play last night.
The Baggies are up to fourth in the Premier League – their highest top-flight standing for 29 years – following their victory against Mark Hughes’ men.
And, once again, the key player for Albion was Brunt, who played a pivotal role in both goals for the home side.
Di Matteo said: “Chris, when we arrived last year, he was in and out of the team.
“He has matured a lot and he’s become a tremendous asset. Every week he gives you an 8-out-of-10.
“He’s somebody you can go to war with and depend on.”
