New Baggies deal for Chris Brunt

West Brom winger Chris Brunt has signed a new three-year contract with the Barclays Premier League newcomers.

The Northern Ireland international has put pen to paper on a deal which will keep him at the Hawthorns until at least the summer of 2013.

The 25-year-old becomes the third Baggies player in the past week to commit their long-term future to the club after Graham Dorrans and Youssouf Mulumbu.

Brunt played a major role last season in helping Albion to regain their top-flight status and manager Roberto Di Matteo is confident he will play a big part during the forthcoming campaign.

He said: "Brunty fully deserves his new deal as he is an important player for us both on and off the field.

"He was a pillar of our promotion success last season and he has another important role to play this season as we look to establish ourselves in the Premier League."

Brunt, who moved to West Brom from Sheffield Wednesday in a £3million deal three years ago, said: "I'm delighted to sign this new deal because I feel really settled at the club, just like my family does in the area.
