Jerome Thomas keen to make the most of West Brom career after injury nightmare

JEROME Thomas has more reason to play with a smile on his face during West Bromwich’s push than anyone having spent last year locked in his own personal nightmare with a back injury.

The 26-year-old made just two appearances for Portsmouth before suffering back pains.

Scans revealed two broken vertebrae. But Thomas, to this day, is still unsure what caused the breaks.

He puts it down to Pars Defect, which is effectively stress fractures to the bone, common in people who overtrain in activities.
