West Brom exclusive: McInnes is your man says Baggies legend

RICHARD Sneekes believes Albion wouldn’t be taking a gamble if they appointed his former Baggies team-mate Derek McInnes as Tony Mowbray’s successor.

McInnes, who played for Albion for three years, skippered the side under Gary Megson and has been linked with the vacant post after Mowbray joined Celtic this week.

McInnes is still popular with Albion fans and is developing a strong reputation as a manager north of the border after leading St Johnstone to the Scottish Premier League.

He succeeded Owen Coyle, who joined Burnley in November 2007 and has just lead them to the Premier League, and while he only has 18 months experience, his former Albion midfield partner Sneekes said Albion should give him a go.
