TONY Mowbray is set to be unveiled as Celtic manager in the next 48 hours after Albion agreed a £2 million compensation deal with the Glasgow club.
After a week-long stand-off between Albion chairman Jeremy Peace and Celtic chief executive Peter Lawwell over the package, and a meeting between Peace and Mowbray on Friday night, the Baggies have agreed to let Celtic talk to Mowbray.
Peace revealed that Mowbray, pictured, had expressed his desire to meet Celtic, who he served as a player for four years in the early 1990s.
Albion will not stand in his way if he wishes to take up the vacant manager’s seat at Celtic Park.
Peace said: “We do not want to lose Tony because he has been an integral part of a long-term project at the club which the vast majority of our fans have bought into.
“But Tony expressed his desire to talk to Celtic and now that the compensation figure in his contract has been met to our satisfaction that process can take place.
