Dream come true for former Glasgow Rangers youth at West Bromwich Albion

GRAHAM Dorrans has proved during his short career that he is a player who isn’t afraid to take risks as he chases his dream of becoming a Premier League footballer.

As a 13-year-old boy from the tough streets of the east end of Glasgow, Dorrans swapped the relative luxury of the Academy at his beloved Rangers to pursue his career at unfashionable Livingston, and his decision certainly paid off.

Dorrans, now aged 21, went on to make nearly 100 appearances for the Scottish League One side and was named the division’s players’ player of the year by his peers at the end of last season.

He was also named in the Scotland under-20 squad for the 2007 World Cup in Canada and has been capped several times at under-21 level, so he could have been forgiven for staying in the relative comfort zone at Livingston where he was guaranteed first team football.
