He added: "In my first few games we got some good results but recently we've had some heavy defeats back to back and we are not happy. They have been disappointing.

"But we play some positive football and I would be more worried if we lost 3-0 and were totally outplayed.

"That was not the case against either Liverpool and Chelsea. We had more possession than Liverpool did during the game.

"So the basics are there for the team and myself to do better in the future.

"We are at the bottom of the table but one win would take us as high as 14th.

"Between now and Christmas we have a good opportunity to put some points on the board. There is still a long way to go as we've only played a third of the season and that is why we want to get going again as quickly as possible.

"Personally, I know there are some things I have to do better at and I work hard on my game.

"I am little surprised in one way that I've played so many games so quickly after joining Albion.

"I knew there was competition at Albion but a spot occurred when Abdoulaye Meite was injured and I had to take my chance."
