Tottenham are ready to pay £5m to bring 29-year-old Liverpool midfielder Joe Cole to White Hart Lane according to reports in the national press today.

We say: Have Tottenham not got enough fleet footed fancy dan midfielders? Joe Cole on his day is a world-beater. Sadly that day hasn't happened in a long time. He consistently under-achieved at Chelsea and has been some way short of a revelation at Liverpool.
