YOU won’t see Scott Dann in a Blues shirt again this season – but you can be assured he will be back in the summer with a vengeance.
The defensive rock has sat out the past four months of football after tearing his hamstring in the first leg of the Carling Cup semi-final at West Ham on January 11.
The long absence has taken its toll on the 24-year-old who admits it pains him watching on from the sidelines when he knows he should be out there playing.
Despite edging closer to full fitness, Dann concedes his season is over.
All that is left to look forward to now is his summer holidays and a rigorous pre-season that will equip him for the start of the next campaign.
“I think at this stage of the season it would be pointless trying to rush back into it for one game,” he said.
“I want to be out there playing but it’s not worth the risk so close to the end of the season.
“I’ll be training with the lads before long, but as for match time, I don’t think so.
“It’s frustrating because when you get closer to full fitness it hurts that little bit more.
“To be honest I’m not the best watcher. I much prefer to be out there and making a difference.
“I don’t really enjoy watching games when I know I should be playing.
