Birmingham City: Craig Gardner loving his shoot-on-sight policy

CRAIG Gardner is loving his new shoot-on-sight policy and admits he feels like he’s going to break the net every time he plays.

The Blues midfielder is developing a habit of scoring wonder goals this season which has propelled him to the top of the club’s scoring charts.

Five of his nine goals this season have been contenders for the St Andrew’s goal-of-the-season prize.

And the 24-year-old is hoping his rich vein of form continues for the remainder of the season, at least.

“I just think to myself now that every time I get a sight of the goal I’m going to let rip because they have been flying in lately,” he said.

“Hopefully they will continue to go in because there’s no better feeling than scoring and, of course, when they are quality goals too it’s great.

“It’s nice when I look back at them and watch them fly in the net.

“It’s even better to see how far away the goalkeepers are – I’m not going to lie, it’s a great buzz.
