"No big ego's at club says Birmingham City defender Scott Dann

Scott Dann

SCOTT Dann reckons Birmingham City are one of the easiest clubs to settle in to because of the lack of big-ego players in their ranks.

These days, too many footballers stroll around acting as though the world owes them a living, but the defender says that doesn’t exist at St Andrew’s.

Instead there is a close-knit community where everyone gets on and will do anything for each other, on and off the pitch.

Make no mistake, Blues have big names in their squad that have been there and done it in the past. Some could even be forgiven for possessing big egos.

But Dann insists there is a strong team spirit without individuals thinking they are bigger than the club.

Who could argue with what Kevin Phillips has given football over the past decade?

Then there’s the likes of Lee Bowyer and Barry Ferguson who have played in the Champions League and represented their country.

Ben Foster has played for the biggest club in England and Nikola Zigic has over 50 caps for Serbia.
