BLUES star Ben Foster has expressed his sympathy towards goalkeeping colleague Colin Doyle.
The trio of goalies that Blues took out to Hong Kong and China was reduced to two just three days into the fortnight stay in the Far East.
Third-choice ’keeper Doyle dashed back to England after his son, Liam, was rushed to hospital with suspected meningitis two weeks ago. The youngster is now said to be through the worst of it.
While of course his son’s well being was the top priority for Doyle, the Irishman’s non-involvement in China has come as a bitter blow for the 25-year-old, as Foster confirmed.
“It was a shame,” the England international told the Sunday Mercury.
“Doyle’s done well over the summer, he’s come back and lost a lot of body weight and fat and looked in great condition.
“A lot of the lads were raving about him saying he’s done so well to come back in the condition that he was.
