Franck Queudrue pays tribute to Birmingham City

Franck Queudrue

OUT-going loan ranger Franck Queudrue has left St Andrew’s on a positive note, as the Frenchman looks to have said his last au revoir to Blues.

The 31-year-old was farmed out to League One Colchester United until the end of the season on Thursday, loan transfer deadline day, and will now attempt to help the play-off chasing Us to promotion.

However, the stint down in English football’s third tier will also give the ex-Middlesbrough and Fulham defender the chance to prove himself to potential suitors.

Queudrue is out of contract in the summer and is set to be shown the exit door alongside several other fringe members of Alex McLeish’s squad.

While the crowd favourite, signed by Steve Bruce in August 2007, has been nothing but a loyal servant having rarely let Big Eck down, the Blues boss has largely called on Queudrue by default rather than choice during his time in charge.
