SCOTT Dann has hailed his and Roger Johnson’s chalk and cheese partnership as the ideal blend for Blues.
One is a quiet, unassuming Liverpudlian who isn’t afraid to get the ball down and play.
The other is a cocksure southerner who’s willing to put his body on the line at every opportunity.
And together they’ve created the solid spine of a Blues defence that has managed to frustrate some of the finest sides in the land this season.
For two Premier League rookies plucked from the Championship, the assured nature of Dann and Johnson’s centre-half partnership has been nothing short of astonishing.
Their outstanding performances have also led to faint calls for future senior England honours.
However, as well as being separated by almost four years in age, they are two different characters off-the-field and two different defenders on the pitch.
Dann believes that variety is essential and is something that you’re likely to find in the centre of some of the best back fours across the world.
