Maik Taylor: Birmingham City are 'up for' Watford game

Maik Taylor has predicted that Blues will be ‘up for it’ at Watford today.

The goalkeeper is suspended for the Vicarage Road trip, as is Lee Carsley, and Liam Ridgewell has been lost with a broken leg for up to nine months.

Such circumstances and the pressure-cooker demands of the situation in the league will fire Blues up.

“Over the course of the season in adversity we have tended to do well,” said the goalkeeper.

“We have played together and got results when needed in difficult situations, like when we have been reduced to 10 men.

“We have shown unbelievable character, like against Plymouth Argyle when, with the weary legs we had at Charlton coming off the back of having Carso sent-off against Wolves, we got something from the game.

“I’m sure with the situation with Ridge as well, the lads will pull together again and be really up for it at Watford.”
