Blues are getting ever nearer to reuniting arguably their most effective front pairing of Garry O’Connor and Kevin Phillips.
The latter has resumed full training following a hamstring tear and is set to be available for Saturday’s game at home to Norwich City.
O’Connor made his comeback from groin trouble as a substitute at Doncaster Rovers.
When they were in tandem in October, Blues forged their way to the top of the Championship.
Although at present, Alex McLeish would find it hard to drop Cameron Jerome to accommodate them both.
“Garry O’Connor’s getting better every day,” said the manager. “Kevin Phillips is now back. He’s looking sharp, even this early into full training.
“He’s been out a month and we will work with him this week and talk to him to see at what level we reintroduce him.
