McFadden was full of praise for the veteran: “That’s the kind of goal Kevin scores. He scores wonder goals at times but he’s the one player who gets the scrappy goals, if you like.
“It came from their ‘keeper making a mistake, but he’s in the right area to put it away.
“Five hundred games ... I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s got 500 goals as well, the amount he’s scored! He’s a top striker and he looks after himself.
“He won’t be happy he’s not played every game this season but when he’s asked to do it, he’s in great condition to come in.”
