With the feel-good factor already generated by Villa’s assault on the Premier League’s top four, today’s Wembley date has sent claret and blue spirits soaring sky-high.

And on top of that, Villa booking their place in the FA Cup quarter-final has put them just one result away from another trip to the national stadium.

Norwegian hit-man Carew, whose two penalties against Crystal Palace helped book Villa’s place in the FA Cup’s last eight on Wednesday, has noticed a change in atmosphere around the club.
